In a relay marathon that kicked off at dawn on 7 December,
members from our T208 team brushed off Singapore’s swelter-
ing humidity to run a total of 42 km.
Project Director Olof Thoren and his project team comprising
(in order of running mates) Enda Clarke, Scott Palin, Edar Idris,
Abilash Dev & Andreas Mindt, joined thousands of keen partic-
ipants gathered before the Standard Chartered starting banner
to pound the Singapore’s pavements for charity.
Race-leader Olof negotiated the heavy starting traffic but came
thundering into the stadium in good time. Baton now in hand,
Enda ran so hard that he missed his changeover point. A quick
call to Scott, who wasted no time in catching up to deliver a
brilliant performance for the team.
Edar and Abi followed behind, after with no reprieve from the
now intense heat - no easy feat (excuse the pun!)
Running the anchor leg, Andreas strode out, making up any
missed time and got himself - and the prized baton - across
the finish line in style.
We finished the race inside an impressive 4 hours 40 minutes.
More importantly, we raised funds for several great causes. A
heartfelt thanks goes out to the team and to all who supported
the initiative with us.
Our T208 team in Singapore limbered up and put their best foot forward to compete in the
Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore.
