INTEGRITY

Leighton Asia operates in high impact
industries where the impact of our
projects is keenly felt by local residents
and environments. To remain a trusted
contractor, it is essential that we
approach our work in a manner that is
mindful of these impacts, both from a
compliance and community relations
perspective.
On 9 February Leighton recevied
notification that, for the third year
running, we had been accorded Hong
Kong’s ‘Caring Company’ status. To
achieve this status, our employees have
gone beyond compliance to consolidate
our reputation as responsible contractor.
Our employees have put their money
where their mouth is to support worthy
causes; they have rolled up their sleeves
and tackled the issue of marine litter;
they have voted with their feet on issues
such as child poverty.
Elsewhere in Asia, our business has
supported rainforest reforestation;
Respect and trust are hard won, but easily lost. Leighton’s recent ‘Caring Company’
status award is proof of how going beyond compliance yields priceless rewards.

has actively addressed the issue
of premature blindness in remote
mountain villages; and has, without a
moment’s hesitation, stepped up to
help rebuild communities ravaged by
natural disaster.
Over the years Leighton has repeatedly
demonstrated its commitment to
caring about the communities in
which we operate. So when those
communities stand up and applaud
our efforts, it is strong indicator that
we have succeeded in living up to our
core value ‘Respect the needs of the
Community’.
